Namma Metro is operated by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka. The network is built in phases, and each phase opens in stretches rather than all at once — which is why a station can be "opening soon" for several years.
What is operational today
- Purple Line (east–west): Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Challaghatta, via Baiyappanahalli, Indiranagar, MG Road, Majestic and Mysore Road.
- Green Line (north–south): Madavara to Silk Institute, via Peenya, Yeshwanthpur, Majestic, Jayanagar and Banashankari.
- Yellow Line (south-east): RV Road to Bommasandra along Hosur Road, serving BTM Layout, Central Silk Board, HSR Layout and Electronic City.
What is under construction
- Phase 2A — Blue Line, Central Silk Board to KR Puram: about 19.75 km elevated along the eastern Outer Ring Road with 13 stations.
- Phase 2B — Blue Line, KR Puram to the airport: about 38.4 km with around 17 stations via Hebbal, Jakkur and Yelahanka.
- Phase 3 — Orange Line: two corridors totalling roughly 44.65 km, along the western Outer Ring Road (JP Nagar to Kempapura) and from Hosahalli to Kadabagere on Magadi Road.
Approved in principle
Phase 3A (Sarjapur to Hebbal) is a roughly 37 km corridor at the detailed planning and funding stage; construction dates are not committed.
How to read metro news as a buyer
An announcement, a tender award, a trial run and a commercial opening are four very different events. Prices usually move twice — when alignment and stations are confirmed, and again when trains actually run. Buying between those two events is where most of the upside sits, provided the property works on its own merits today.
